US Local Sales Manager

Reports to CRO | Full-time, permanent

This is a chance to lead a fast-growing sales team through the most critical commercial season of the year. You’ll run the local US sales team day-to-day, coach reps on the deals they close every day, and own the pipeline through the busiest stretch on the calendar. The deal flow is there, the team is scaling, and welcome week is about to put real volume through the door.

What’s needed is an operator who can manage at pace and get the best out of a growing team from week one.

You’ll be hands-on, in the detail, and close to the action. You’ll build the daily rhythm, get new reps productive fast, and step in to close the deals where your team needs senior backup. If you know the US campus activation market and want a role where your leadership shows up directly in the numbers, this is the moment to join.

Who you’d be doing it for

My client is the leading campus media and activation platform, connecting brands with 10M+ college students across the US and UK through experiential events, digital media and campus partnerships. They’re in a high-growth phase with an aggressive welcome week push across 40+ universities, a pipeline expanding every week, and a focus on building the most defensible commercial layer in the US college market.

The role at a glance

This is a hands-on management job focused exclusively on local deal flow: SMB deals ($3K to $15K) with businesses like gyms, coffee shops, restaurants and dentists, plus simple to standard experiential activations. Larger segments like multi-site bundles, brand ambassador campaigns and national enterprise deals sit with other teams and are out of scope. A West Coast timezone is required so you’re present during core team hours.

What you’ll own

Local team management

  • Lead daily sales meetings and weekly pipeline reviews with a growing team of 5 reps, scaling up through summer
  • Coach reps on SMB deal structures and the experiential activations they sell every day
  • Manage rep performance against monthly targets and step in quickly where someone needs to improve
  • Own onboarding as the team scales, getting new reps productive fast

Pipeline and deal flow

  • Manage the local pipeline stages, progression and weekly forecasting in the CRM
  • Close deals where reps need senior backup, particularly on the larger opportunities

What you’ll bring

Must-haves

  • Hands-on experience in US campus marketing, student agencies or experiential activations
  • Direct experience running sampling activations and brand ambassador programmes
  • A proven track record managing a sales team and hitting collective revenue targets
  • California or West Coast based, working to Pacific Time
  • The ability to drive a fast-paced environment across coaching and pipeline management from week one

Strong advantages

  • Existing brand contacts in FMCG, food and beverage, personal care, tech or spirits
  • Experience managing reps across multiple campus markets at once
  • Familiarity with welcome week commercial structures and the college calendar
  • A track record of hiring and onboarding reps quickly in a high-churn environment

Compensation and benefits

  • Competitive base salary (range confirmed at offer stage)
  • Team performance bonus tied to collective revenue targets
  • Equity in a high-growth business at an inflection point
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision
